The OAPC’s Annual Spring Operations Seminar was originally scheduled to take place on March 26 at the Scarborough Convention Centre. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we canceled the event. However, we are pleased to bring the OAPC “Spring Operations” summer edition, Asphalt Operations Webinar, to the comfort of your own home.
- - 2020 ONTARIO MINISTRY OF LABOUR (MOL) UPDATE: Ontario Ministry of Labour will provide important information to ensure a safe and successful 2020 construction season.
- - LEVERAGING OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY SYSTEMS IN TIMES OF CRISIS: Ken Rayner, VP Customer Relations, Market Development & Labour Relations at IHSA will provide an overview of how best to utilize existing OH&S systems to keep workers safe and to prepare for the future as the economy opens up. He will also focus on change management and how to ensure workers develop new habits to keep everyone safe.
- - USE RECLAIMED ASPHALT PAVEMENT (RAP) RESPONSIBLY: Doubra Ambaiowei, Technical Director, ORBA OAPC, will provide an in-depth look at what it takes to use RAP responsibly. These recommendations come from #9 of the Top 10 List – Ways to get More Durable Pavement, that were extracted from the results of the Quality of Asphalt Review which commenced in the fall of 2018.
- - EMPLOYER BENEFITS OF HIRING A CO-OP STUDENT: Melissa Deneault, Employer Relations Consultant, Cooperative Education Department, Conestoga College. Melissa will provide an overview of the financial incentives and long-term benefits to employers that hire co-op students.
